TASTE OF EGYPT

Meet Yaz

A woman with dark hair, wearing a red headband and a navy blue zip-up top, sitting at a wooden table with her chin resting on her hand, in a cozy indoor setting with shelves and decorative items in the background.

Yasmine “Yaz” Zakhary never imagined trading FBI training for a chef’s apron, but her love for hospitality changed everything. She helped open The Tavern at Granite Links, worked with culinary legend Lydia Shire at Scampo, managed Abe & Louie’s, and later became an opening director of operations for several restaurants across Massachusetts. In 2018, she brought her vision home to Abington to open Yaz’s Table, blending New England comfort with Egyptian soul. In 2023, she expanded with Yaz’s Table Boutique Café & Bakery, continuing her mission to serve joy, flavor, and connection, one table at a time.

"I want to give my guests more than just a simple dining experience, I want them to feel welcomed coming in, trying foods that might surprise them with combinations of different flavors that they may not normally try." - Yaz

Momma Maggie:
A Tribute to Family & Flavor

A young man and an older woman in a kitchen looking at a plate of food, possibly preparing or garnishing a dish.

A beloved part of Yaz’s Table is Yaz’s mother, Momma Maggie. She is the soul of our kitchen. Every Egyptian dish we serve comes from her treasured family recipes, many prepared by Momma Maggie’s own hands.

And when you want to share the sweetness, Momma Maggie’s Oven offers catering trays of traditional Egyptian desserts, from baklava and basbousa to cookies, cupcakes, and more…
